OUR STORY
At the young age of 19, Richard Weis had a vision. After leaving high school for vocational school and graduating, Weis was hired by an engineering company as a machinist. Growing up, Weis’ father had been an automobile technician, and his love of cars was borne from his father’s job. So after his shift at the engineering firm, Weis would work on vehicles out of a two-bay shop in Crossville, TN. This is where the CAR FIX name was born.
As his business grew, Weis undertook an enormous amount of training in automobile repair and went on to earn his ASE Certification. The rest, they say, is history. In 2003, Jeff Williams joined the CAR FIX family, and his years of leadership experience allowed for the CAR FIX business to grow exponentially. In 2004, CAR FIX, Weis, and Williams were forced to leave their original shop, and construction began on an all-new shop, which was finished in 2005. The team quickly outgrew this six-bay shop, and by 2018 they had added four additional bays and a swankier customer waiting area.
But Weis, Williams, and CAR FIX weren’t done expanding yet. They opened a second shop in the Oak Ridge area in 2019, and in 2020 Willaims took over the role of District Manager. From there, CAR FIX expanded its reach, opening two more 10-bay shops in both Cookeville and Maryville. Finally, in 2022, CAR FIX expanded again, opening a new location in Knoxville. Where will CAR FIX expand to next? Only time will tell.
